FUNGUS OR FUNGHI?

An amazing mass of funghi(?) This grew out of an old tree stump that is long dead. Amazingly, this funghi keeps growing back. Would have measured at least a foot long.
Quite pretty yet ugly at same time!
Shame we can't eat it(or can we?) :)
