Just sharing these delightful beauties from my daughter's garden. I thought the large pink flower was a bromeliad with great foliage but the tag says Aechmea fasciata Primera which I understand is the same family, maybe it's more exotic; there's also a warning that it's not fit for consumption!?! (note to self: do not eat this plant) On the right are 2 shots of what she bought as a bromeliad but doesn't have the tag any longer. I love the way the petals curl out to change the whole look of the flower. The plant is blooming fully at the moment with flowers in different stages of development [also see previous blog on bromeliads: 17/4/10 BLAST FROM THE PAST]
