HIDDEN GEM REVISITED...

Some time ago I posted about a hidden gem I'd found in a neglected garden here but couldn't get too close without trespassing. The other day I while walking on the opposite side of the road I spotted them again AND could see the house was vacant. So time for a little trespassing....
I have no idea what sort of orchid they are but slipper orchid comes to mind because of the shape. Whatever the name, they are quite stunning.
They have gone mad since I last posted about them, climbing higher up into the tree.
This bunch of buds will be out soon, but I notice there were people moving in the other day so no more trespassing for me.

  1. They really are quite stunning aren't they Sandy! Fabulous shots of them. Shame about the new peeps moving in, but perhaps you could ask them very nicely if they could give you a piece of it saying that you've been admiring from afar? :) x

    1. In fact the house is empty. What I thought was people moving in must have been workmen. Still can't bring myself to steal though. :(

    1. A friend has sent the picture to the Orchid Society so might get an answer soon. Thanks for visiting Badger.

    1. They certainly are stunning. The urge to go into the yard and rip them off the tree and bring them home is strong but so far have resisted the urge. I nearly put my neck out looking at them when I drive past. Thanks for visiting
