BUMMING AROUND....

Now that we're about to embark on a week or so of strong winds and rain, I thought I'd share my recent trip to a few of our Sunshine Coast beaches while we had some glorious weather (between showers anyway). First I went to Moffatt Beach where I watched some surfers. Just for photographic purposes you understand....
This Great Billed Heron gave me the eye...
as I looked to the south.... it's difficult to see here but
there's a pied cormorant on one of those rocks.
And too the north, very soothing, just sitting and watching...
The next day I visited Shelly Beach. The seas were rougher and over the headland to the north, we beach bums got to watch a paraglider enjoying the up-draft.
And lastly, on to Kings Beach although the glare was a bit too much by that time. I was trying to get some decent shots of pandanus trees. No idea who that kid is either....
Next time I'll head up north towards Coolum.

  2. Thanks for visiting Merisi. Maybe I'll be checking out your skies in November. We are now experiencing our own grey skies, the reason I decided to post some beautiful scenery.

    1. Thanks Susan, looks like a fun sport. I'm okay here but can't say the same for some of those further north.

  4. Ooh that was really lovely Sandy! They're fab shots of all those beaches and it all brings back memories. Love that heron giving you the eye. :) and you're right in that it was relaxing just looking at the pics, so know that it would be more so being there! ♥

    1. I did enjoy my days as a beach bum! I really enjoyed Shelly Beach, still unchanged. Kings Beach is certainly different to what we remember.

  5. OMG as they say here - surf. I would love to do that again. When I was young I lived at the beach - I miss that.

    1. I always wanted to learn but never got around to it. Now I'm too scared of the Noahs...
