I've posted before about this beauty, but at this time of year it really puts on a show as you drive up the range from Nambour towards Mapleton. The hillsides are absolutely covered with Japanese Sunflower which is deemed to be a serious environmental weed by the Dept of Primary Industry. It certainly does seem to be taking over here.

It's difficult to get the perfect vantage point due to the winding road, without trespassing. I took two of these photos on the fly, from the car while we were stopped, fortunately no one behind us.
